In 1903 the Wright Brothers made the First manned flight, a few short years later in 1911 the first aircraft were used in warfare in the Italo- Turk war. 1914 would see the first use of aircraft in numbers used in warfare, and from then on aircraft technology evolved to where we are today. I have been a fan of military aviation for a large part of my life particularly of the F-4 Phantom and the F-14 Tomcat. This knife is inspired by the flyers of US Navy squadron VF-84 the Jolly Rogers. And this is my salute to you.
VF-84 is the 3rd addition to the Night Strike series of Tactical Knives.
This Blade is forged from 1084 High Carbon Steel. While similar in size to the Night Strike it is slightly longer and has a more aggressive taper up to the clip point.
The VF-84 additionally has a distally tapered blade and is like all others in the tactical knives range, in that it has a stonewashed finish.
The handle grips are Black Micarta on Yellow G10 liners. the handle scales are held via 2 Brass pins and a Brass Lanyard tube. The handle has been rock textured to give good grip even when wet.
VF-84 comes with a stamped full leather sheath designed for scout carry on left or right side if you reverse the straps via the 2 screws. The retainer is wrapped to the back side like a thumb break on a pistol holster meaning it can’t get snagged an un-clip easily. This style of carry can also be strapped to backpack shoulder straps for easy deployment.
